HealthEdge Completes Investment in The Columbus Organization
TAMPA, FLORIDA – December 14, 2016 – HealthEdge Investment Partners announced today that it has completed an investment in The Columbus organization (“Columbus” or the “Company”), its first portfolio company in HealthEdge Investment Fund III.
Columbus is the nation’s leading provider of on-site case management, professional staffing, and consultative services, focusing exclusively on agencies that serve individuals with special needs. Since 1984, the Company has assisted more than 140 state and local agencies in over 40 states and the District of Columbia to help solve staffing and programmatic problems. Many of these agencies faced challenging regulatory, certification, and litigation issues. Columbus consistently improves outcomes within identified timeframes and fiscal parameters. The Company is accredited by CARF international, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, for its service coordination programs.
According to Richard Ronder, former Chief Executive Officer of Columbus, “It was important to our team that we align ourselves with a partner that could enhance our operations and service model, and we are confident that partnering with HealthEdge ensures our ability to continue to provide best-in-class services to both new and existing customers.” Mr. Ronder will assume the role of board Chairman and remains an owner of the Company.
Simultaneous with this new investment, Jeff Klimaski, a proven senior-level leadership executive with a cumulative 19 years of experience covering financial management, commercial execution, governance and controls, and people development, has joined Columbus as Chief Operating Officer. HealthEdge Partner Jeff Thompson said, “We are thrilled to partner with an already talented Columbus team, which has established itself as a thought leader in the market, and Jeff Klimaski’s leadership skills and experience will impact this business in a meaningful way that will be beneficial to the Company’s customers, business partners, and associates.”
